OTRC: David Arquette needs 'mother' after Courteney Cox split, may host new game show

David Arquette entered a rehab program, seeking treatment for alcohol addiction and depression, it was reported on Jan. 3, 2011, following his October trial separation from actress-wife Courteney Cox. David Arquette says he is heartbroken about being away from his actress-wife Courteney Cox following their separation earlier this year and needs a mother figure in his life to take care of him.

Cox and Arquette star together in "Scream 4", which is due for release on April 15, 2011. Arquette is also keeping busy with other projects. Variety reported recently that the actor is set to develop and host a game show called "Ranking the Stars", which would make celebrities rank one another and talk about embarrassing things they would be willing to do.

Cox and Arquette married in June 1999 and have a 6-year-old daughter named Coco. They announced in October they had agreed to a trial separation.

"I am heartbroken," Arquette told shock jock Howard Stern on the raunchy "Howard Stern Show" on Wednesday on SIRIUS XM satellite radio. "We're still a loving family or whatever it is."

"I lost both my parents, so sometimes you wake up and the reality of what's going on hits you," he added. "It's just hard. The thing that she said she didn't want to be my mother - I kind of need a mother. I need a girl right now to come, bring me some soup, make sure I'm all right. I take care of my ladies, too."

Stern said Arquette sent him Christmas gifts signed "Love, David, Courteney and Coco". Arquette said he is seeing a therapist and thinks he is having a midlife crisis. He added that he has been drinking a lot to mask his feelings.

"I had an epiphany the other day. It was a semi religious experience. When I drink, I become a maniac. I'm definitely not drinking for a long time."

When asked about recently published photos of him dancing with other women, Arquette said: "I'm always having a good time" and added that one of them took one of the photos herself to set him up.

Arquette spoke about his love life on Stern's show soon after he and Cox announced their trial separation, and said the two had not been intimate in months. He later apologized for revealing too much.

Cox said in November she and Arquette did not plan on getting divorced and that she was not shocked her husband shared details of their personal life on Stern's show.

"We're just in different places right now," Arquette said. "We're still good, dear friends. I need love in my life. I am a single man right now. I would love to fall in love."

Last week, it was announced Stern signed a new 5-year deal with Sirius XM Radio, which will continue to broadcast his hit show and other programs on his Howard 100 and Howard 101 channels until the end of 2015.

On Wednesday's episode of his program, it was announced Stern's longtime co-host Robin Quivers and staff member Fred Norris have also signed on for five more years.
