Nicole Richie reportedly wore not one but three Marchesa dresses at her recent wedding to Joel Madden, and called the night "magical".
Richie, 29, and Madden, the 31-year-old singer of rock band Good Charlotte, began dating in 2006 and have a 2-year-old daughter named Harlow and a son, Sparrow, who is 15 months old.
The two wed on Saturday under a tent and in front of some 130 guests - and a trained elephant - at her father and singer Lionel Richie's Beverly Hills home. Harlow was the flower girl and Sparrow was the ring-bearer, People magazine reported.
One of Richie's Marchesa dresses featured a ball-gown skirt "crafted from more than 100 yards of hand-draped silk organza and tulle petals," it said, adding that Richie had wanted a dress inspired by actress Grace Kelly's iconic wedding gown, and a real live elephant for good luck.
"It was magical," Richie told the magazine, which quoted Madden as saying: "It was the best night of my life."
E! News had said one of her Marchesa gowns was "custom-made, white, and cost her $20,000."
Richie rose to fame as paris Hilton's sidekick on the reality show "The Simple Life". Since then, she has kept busy adding accessories like sunglasses to her House of Harlow 1960 fashion line for the upcoming spring and fall collections for 2011.
