Matthew Morrison, who plays teacher Will Schuester, or "Mr. Schue", on "Glee", says he will embark on a world tour after he finishes filming the second season of the FOX musical comedy series.
The 32-year-old actor, who has appeared in Broadway musicals, plans to release his debut album next year. Elton John said in October he is set to help Morrison with his record.
"I'm getting ready for my world tour for my solo album," Morrison told the television show "Extra" recently. "When we're on our hiatus in April, I'm going to start the big tour. I'm going to go home for Christmas, spent time with my dad and my mom's coming to town and then I'm going to go off to a another country for a little while and just get away."
Morrison told British pop star Leona Lewis on his Twitter page on Tuesday: "See you in London next year." In June, he joined Lewis on stage at her concert London's O2 Arena during her own world tour and sang "Over the Rainbow".
Morrison told Entertainment Weekly that his album is due in May and is almost finished.
"We have like two more songs to record and then it's off to the mixing stages," he said. "I'm really, really happy with it and I can't wait for people to hear it as well."
"Glee", which tells of a high school glee club made up of misfits and popular kids, has been renewed for a third season.
Its cast members Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris), Harry Shum, Jr., Chord Overstreet and Darren Criss are set to embark on their own tour in 2011 to promote the show in the United Kingdom and Ireland, following a successful series of concerts held in the United States earlier this year.
No additional North American dates have been confirmed, but "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy promises "some exciting news very soon," FOX said in a statement.
