Firefighters found fire underneath a raised floor, in the wall and in the attic of one unit of the duplex.
Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, but continued fighting the blaze for several more hours.
The resident was not at home. Two dogs were killed in the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
