Justin Bieber and Chris Brown appear to have recorded music together, as the R&B singer promises a "BANGER/SMASH record" around January 2011.

Bieber, a 16-year-old pop star and one of the most popular young artists in the world, has not commented. He is the protégé of R&B singer Usher and has in the past collaborated with him as well as with artists such as Ludacris and Sean Kingston and the band Rascal Flatts.

"ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!! 2011 #BREEZYTAKEOVER," Brown wrote on his Twitter page recently.

Brown made headlines in 2009 when he was arrested and convicted of assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. He completed a round of court-mandated domestic violence classes earlier this month.

On Feb. 11, 2011, Bieber is set to release a movie about his life called "Never Say Never", which also features Jaden Smith and Miley Cyrus. Bieber has been busy this past year - he made his acting debut on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", released two albums and a memoir and inspired a line of nail polish.
