Reese Witherspoon is engaged to Jim Toth, a Hollywood agent, after dating for almost a year.

The 34-year-old actress, known for movies such as "Legally Blonde," is the latest celebrity confirmed in recent days, following the Christmas holiday, to have gotten engaged, joining singers LeAnn Rimes and Lily Allen and actress Natalie Portman and "Big Love" star Ginnifer Goodwin.

"They are extremely happy!" Witherspoon's spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Tuesday.

Further details were not revealed and it is unclear how long Witherspoon and Toth have been engaged. This will mark the second marriage for the actress, who was married to actor Ryan Phillippe, 36, between 1999 and 2008. The two are parents to daughter Ava, 11 and son Deacon, 7.

She and Toth, 40, were first linked together in January, not long after she and actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, confirmed they had broken up after dating for about three years. Witherspoon and Toth fended off engagement rumors in October.

Witherspoon discussed her love life in an interview with Glamour magazine last month.

"I don't want to disparage any of the other relationships that I've had that were meaningful and wonderful," she said. "But what I'm finding out is that it's very comfortable to be with somebody who understands my career, but doesn't do what I do."

Witherspoon appears in the new romantic comedy film "How Do You Know" with Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd and recently filmed the movies "Water for Elephants" with "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson and "This Means War" with Chris Pine and E! talk show host Chelsea Handler.
