Scientists work on blood test for Alzheimer's

LOS ANGELES When researchers develop a blood test for a disease, they look for a protein or antigen that tells them the body's mounted an immune response.

The problem is that protein can be very hard to find. That's why scientists are excited about the success they've had with the latest test, which is still in the early stages.

While there's no real treatment for Alzheimer's, an earlier diagnosis could lead to developing a better treatment.
