The Beastie Boys group is set for a comeback following rapper Adam Yauch's cancer battle.

His band mate Mike D told BBC Radio 1 that Yauch has "come a ways" and that "we're really happy about it."

Yauch announced in July 2009 that he was set to undergo surgery and radiation therapy to treat a cancerous salivary gland.

Mike D said the hip hop group will release the second part of its new double album "Hot Sauce Committee" in a few months, while the first part will hit stores later.

"It's still delayed - the first installment," he said. "But the second one is coming out as originally scheduled in the spring."

The Beastie Boys band is known for songs such as "Sabotage" and "Fight for Your Right." " Hot Sauce Committee" is the group's eighth studio album. The band's last major record, "The Mix-Up," hit stores in 2007.

"Good news ... 2011 is gonna be stress free," band member Adam Horovitz wrote cryptically on the Beastie Boys' website earlier this week.
