Sarah Palin's TLC reality show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" might not return for a second season, according to insiders at Entertainment Weekly.

The show followed the former vice presidential candidate's life and family in Wasilla, Alaska. Some of her adventures included hunting trips, Eskimo bingo, interacting with bears and a cross-over show camping trip Kate Gosselin of TLC's "Kate Plus 8" and her brood of kids. "Sarah Palin's Alaska" received an average of 3.2 million viewers per episode.

Earlier in the season, Sarah Palin's caribou hunting adventures simultaneously enraged animal rights group PETA and delighted rocker and gun ownership rights advocate Ted Nugent.

"Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode" Palin responded to the criticism on her Facebook. "I remain proudly intolerant of anti-hunting hypocrisy."

According to Entertainment Weekly, insiders have that Palin enjoyed filming the show more than she expected she would. Some wonder if the rumor might mean that Palin plans on running for office in 2012.

OnTheRedCarpet.com reached out to TLC to confirm the rumors, but Discovery has no comment on whether the show will be returning for a second season.

The first season 2-hour finale of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" is scheduled for this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
