Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who played Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," is dating Regina King, a fellow child star who currently appears on the TNT cop drama "Southland."
King, who starred on the comedy series "227" and who has a teenage son from a previous relationship, recently spoke to Essence magazine about her relationship with Warner, 40.
"Malcolm and I have a lot in common," she said. "We've both been child actors and were also blessed to be raised by incredible mothers who instilled good values in us. Things are maturing nicely."
The two have been linked together for more than a year.
Warner played the son of Bill Cosby's character, family man Cliff Huxtable, between 1984 and 1992. He began his television acting career in 1982, appearing on shows such as "Fame" and "ABC Afterschool Specials." He played Malcolm McGee on the show "Malcolm and Eddie" with Eddie Griffin between 1996 and 2000.
In 2006, Warner made a guest appearance on the Showtime series "Dexter" as the lawyer of Rita, serial killer Dexter's then-girlfriend. In recent years, Warner has appeared on shows such as the sitcom "Community" and is currently working on a 2011 movie called "King of the Underground," which tells of a rap artist who goes on a killing spree after being rejected by the music industry.
King, who turns 40 on January 15, made her acting debut on "227" as Brenda Jenkins. The show ran between 1985 and 1990. She also starred in the movie "Boyz n the Hood," "Higher Learning" and "Jerry Maguire" as well as the FOX spy series "24."
