Demi Lovato has thanked her fans for supporting her as she contnues her treatment for emotional and physical issues.
In early November, the 18-year-old Disney Channel star and singer pulled out of a joint concert tour with the Jonas Brothers, whose member Joe Jonas is Lovato's ex-boyfriend and checked into a medical center.
Her spokesperson said she was seeking professional help for "emotional and physical issues" but did not detail what they were and added that her issues had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol.
"I wish to thank all the friends and fans who voted for me for the People's Choice Awards and the Hot Hits Hottest Teen Stars of 2010," Lovato said on her Facebook page. "I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for standing beside me through it all."
Last week, Lovato took home the People's Choice Award for Favorite TV Guest Star for her guest appearance on the ABC medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy." Lovato played a troubled teenage patient.
In December, it was reported that Lovato had settled a dispute with her backup dancer, Alex "Shorty" Welch, who is said to have been involved in a confrontation that may have spurred the singer and actress to check into a treatment center. Lovato did not comment on the report.
Reports of the tussle were leaked to the press weeks after Lovato checked herself into a medical center, without disclosing her precise ailment or what prompted her to seek treatment. The singer had up until then kept a low profile and deleted her Twitter page.
