Michael Douglas says he has beaten his cancer and that his throat tumor is gone.

His representatives said in August the 66-year-old actor was being treated for Stage Four throat cancer. The actor finished the last of his two-month-long radiation and chemotherapy sessions in early October.

"The odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I've got it beat," Douglas says in an interview set to air on NBC's "Today" show.

"It's put a timeline on my life," he added. "I'm 66 now. You know, I'm fortunate I've got a mother who's 88. She'll kill me. She may be 87. My father's 94. So, you know, I feel good about those genes."

The actor said he still has to undergo monthly medical checks and is working out, but adds that doctors told him they "want to keep the cardio down because they want me to put some more weight on."

"I'm eating like a pig," Douglas said. "I lost about 32 pounds. And I've put about 12 back."

Douglas said in December he felt "good" after completing major treatments for the disease and praised the support of his family. Douglas, his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones' and their two young children stepped out at Walt Disney World in Florida in late November.
