It's official! Katie Holmes has been announced as the face of Ann Taylor's spring 2011 advertising campaign, according to a statement in the company's blog. The actress' ads will begin appearing in March magazines but the company released a sneak peek shot of the actress sporting a navy suit by the brand and shot by photographer Tom Munro.

"I've been a fan of Ann Taylor since I was a young girl. I grew up loving the clothes?and am really excited to be the face of Ann Taylor for the spring season," Holmes said in a statement. "I am thrilled to be part of a brand I believe in."

According to the company's website, the brand "caters to the successful, relatively affluent career woman, who needs appropriate, fashion conscious attire for her professional life and special events, and prefers stylish, coordinated looks for her leisure activities."

"We are thrilled to have Katie as the face of Ann Taylor. Katie personifies the Ann Taylor brand -- smart, talented, incredibly chic, and living a full life with beauty and grace," Christine Beauchamp, President of Ann Taylor Stores, said in a statement. "We admire and respect Katie for her intellect, kindness and enduring personal style."

The announcement comes on the heels of 'The Kennedys' miniseries, which Holmes stars as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, being dropped from airing in the United States by the History Channel.

Holmes will return to the big screen in 2011 in the film "The Son of No One" and is currently filming "Jack and Jill" with Adam Sandler and Al Pacino.

In the past, celebrities like Halle Berry, Naomi Wattts and Heidi Klum have all represented the brand in advertising campaigns.
