Alicia Silverstone, who rose to fame with the movie "Clueless," is expecting her first child with husband Christopher Jarecki, her spokesperson confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com.
The 34-year-old actress and Jarecki, a 40-year-old musician, married in 2005 after eight years together, according to People magazine.
Silverstone, an animal rights activist who maintains a strict vegan diet, recently posted a feature on vegan pregnancies on her website.
Silverstone played ditzy high school queen Cher in the 1995 teen movie "Clueless," one of the most iconic films in the 1990s that spurred fashion trends and a slew of catchphrases.
The actress is also known for films such as "Batman & Robin" in 1997 and "Blast From the Past" in 1999. She starred in the series "Miss Match" in 2003 and recently filmed the comedy film "Butter" with "Twilight" actress Ashley Green and "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman.
