Maria Shriver's father, Sargent Shriver, remains hospitalized in critical condition Monday morning in Maryland, according to a family spokesperson.Shriver was admitted at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda on Sunday. Hospital officials aren't commenting on Shriver's condition or why he was admitted.
The 95-year-old is the former director of the Peace Corps and was also the Democratic vice-presidential nominee in 1972.
In 2003, Shriver announced he had Alzheimer's disease.
Shriver's wife and Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver died in 2009.
