Melissa Etheridge is reportedly dating Linda Wallem, creator of the series "Nurse Jackie," almost a year after she split from actress Tammy Etheridge.
The 49-year-old Grammy-winning rocker, known for hits such as "Come To My Window," and Wallem have not commented on the People magazine report, which said the two became involved romantically three months after her April 2010 breakup and have been best friends for more than a decade.
The two "are in a committed relationship. They're happy," a source close to the two told the magazine.
Following their split, Melissa and Tammy Etheridge engaged in a custody battle over their 4-year-old twins Johnnie Rose and Miller. Tammy Etheridge also sought financial support from her ex.
The two exchanged vows in a commitment ceremony in the beachside community of Malibu in Los Angeles, California in September 2003 and registered a domestic partnership in August 2005. Tammy Etheridge gave birth to the twins in 2006 through artificial insemination from an unnamed donor.
Melissa Etheridge also has a teenage daughter and pre-teen son born via a sperm donation from rocker David Crosby. Her ex-girlfriend, filmmaker Julie Cypher, has shared custody.
Tammy Etheridge played snotty high school queen Nicole Julian in the teen series "Popular" from 1999 to the end of the show's run in 2001 and was billed by her maiden name Tammy Lynn Michaels. She also appeared on the shows "Committed" in 2005 and "The L Word" in 2004.
