Oprah Winfrey says she's planning to reveal a huge family secret and will stage a family reunion on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, January 24, 2011.
"I thought I'd seen it all. But this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles," she said in a new promo clip, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. "I was given some news that literally shook me to my core. This time, I'm the one being reunited. I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday you're going to hear it straight from me."
Winfrey, 56, said that the secret is one that she only recently learned and has only told those closest to the media mogul. Unsurprisingly, Oprah's production company, Harpo, has declined to provide any further details.
Given Oprah's family history, there are many possibilities for Monday's reunion and Oprah has used her talk show to reveal secrets in the past, including the fact that she smoked crack cocaine in her 20s.
Oprah was born to unwed teen parents and was herself pregnant at the age of 14, but the baby died shortly after birth. On Piers Morgan's CNN show this week, Oprah admit that she wouldn't be where she is today if she had had the baby.
Oprah's new television network OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) launched on January 1 to an average 1 million viewers. Oprah admit recently that she was grateful that viewers tuned in for the OWN launch and had been anxious that it might not be successful.
