LAUSD dropout rate drops by 10 percent

LOS ANGELES /*Los Angeles Unified School District*/ officials say the reason is more students who quit school are returning to continue their education through adult classes.

Still, dropping out remains a serious issue for the district.

At the current rate, about seven out of every 100 Los Angeles public high school students will quit school this year.

Nearly 30 out of every 100 students will drop out at some point in their four-year high school career.
