Charlie Sheen is home after being hospitalized for severe abdominal pain, and he will be back at work next week, according to his publicist.
"Charlie Sheen has left the hospital last night and is at home. He will be on the set of 'Two and a Half Men' on Tuesday," the publicist said in a statement to KABC-TV.
The 45-year-old actor was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early Thursday morning. Sheen's representative said on Thursday that the star may have been suffering from a hernia.
"He has had a history of having this type of hernia, and the person who made the 911 call said he had severe stomach pains and said it was from a hernia condition," said the publicist.
His representation cautioned that the woman who called 911 is not a doctor, so the condition is merely an educated guess given Sheen's condition and previous experience with hernias.
Sheen may have suffered from the pain for excessive laughing. His friend reportedly told "Extra" that the actor got a hernia from laughing too hard at a television show.
This is the second time in 6 months that Sheen was brought to the hospital following late-night partying. Sheen was reportedly partying with several adult film stars late into the evening, including porn star Kacey Jordan, who Tweeted an elicit photo from inside the actor's home.
Sheen was hospitalized in New York in October after spending the night at a hotel with porn star Capri Anderson, who accused Sheen of becoming violent. Sheen was taken to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation. His spokesman had said at that time that the actor reacted badly to medication.
