3-year-old boy calls 911 to save dad's life

An Oregon boy made a frantic, but life-saving call to 911 after his father impaled himself with a wood chisel.

"Daddy Needs Help," said the 3-year-old boy during the call."He's been hurt. You have to come. He really needs help."

That call likely saved Aaron Hayes' life. He accidentally embedded a chisel deep in his arm, severing a main artery.

His son, A.J., saw the blood gushing and knew what he had to do.

"I couldn't be more proud," Hayes said.

Paramedics said Hayes easily could have bled to death. They point to this as another example of the importance of teaching kids how to use 911.
