Pacific storm rumbles through SoCal

CASTAIC, Calif.

It wasn't a very powerful storm, but rain spread across from the coast to the Inland Empire.

The storm was expected to bring snow to the mountains and the Grapevine.

Traffic into the Grapevine on Sunday night was moving smoothly, but the /*California Highway Patrol*/ said it was keeping an eye on the conditions.

In Running Springs, the fog and snow made for dangerous driving as fresh powder dropped on and off throughout the day.

The system had already brought some snow to the area, but not as much as the local ski resorts would like.

The local ski areas were hoping to squeeze out a few inches of snow from the storm before it moved out.

The rain was only a small inconvenience for some, but to others it came as a surprise.

"I know what need it, but it was a surprise," said Diamond Bar resident Jerry Ramirez. "It was coming down hard."
