Donald Sutherland, Elijah Wood and Eddie Izzard are set to star in the Syfy network's adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel "Treasure Island."
Sutherland is set to play Flint while Wood will play Ben Gunn and Izzard takes on the role of Long John Silver, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The production is currently shooting in Puerto Rico and Ireland and will be shot as a two-part made-for-television movie set to premiere in early 2012.
There have been almost 50 movie and television adaptations of the novel including a 1972 film starring Orson Wells, a 1990 made-for-television movie with Christian Bale and Charlton Heston and a 1996 film starring the Muppets.
Sutherland was recently honored with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame on January 26. The actor, 75, received the 2,430th star which was be placed at 7024 Hollywood Boulevard, next to his son's star, Kiefer Sutherland of "24" fame. Wood is set to reprise his role as Frodo Baggins in "The Hobbit" films set for release in December 2012 and December 2013.
