Ventura drive-by shooting injures Oxnard man

Ventura Police officers responded to a report of shots fired on Peacock Ave. in Ventura Wednesday night.

Gunshots were reported on the 2300 block of Peacock Ave. at approximately 11 p.m.

Oxnard resident Donald Reyes, 21, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. Reyes was transported to Ventura County Medical Center and treated for a non-life-threatening wound. He was later released.

Officers found assault rifle shell casings at the shooting location.

The attack was described as a drive-by shooting and was under investigation, possibly as being gang-related.

No suspects were arrested.
