Working moms may contribute to child obesity

Researchers have found that the more mothers work, the more likely their kids are to be overweight or obese.

Researchers have found that the more mothers work during their children's lifetimes, the more likely their kids are to be overweight or obese.

For every five-month period their mother worked, the child gained nearly one pound of weight.

Experts theorized that it is because working moms have little time to shop for healthy food and prepare meals. Their children ate more fast-food and pre-packaged food, which tend to be higher in fat and calories.
