Yoshiya Watanabe has been missing since last week from Palos Verdes, and authorities said he suffers from dementia and memory impairment.
He was thought to be driving his son's dark gray Mercedes. It was found on Sunday in the Scholl Canyon area in the Glendale hills.
Search teams with dogs combed the rugged hills between Glendale and Pasadena on Monday and found the body of a male at about 12 p.m., but the identity of the body has not yet been confirmed.
Anyone with information about the missing man is asked to call police.
