Dana Carvey hosted "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday and he and Mike Myers reprised their roles as Garth and Wayne for a special throwback installment of their infamous recurring sketch "Wayne's World," offering their take on the nominees of the 2011 Academy Awards.
"Wayne's World" features the two playing heavy metal music-loving guys who broadcast their show out of Wayne's parents' basement. They appeared in character on "SNL" in the 1990s and the franchise spurred a slew of catchphrases and two hit movies in the early part of the decade.
Since then, Myers has gone on to star in the hit "Austin Powers" films and voices Shrek in the animated movies by the same name. Carvey has concentrated mostly on his comedy act and tours all over the United States.
The 2011 Academy Awards ceremony is set to air live on ABC on February 27. Check out the recent "Wayne's World" sketch that paid tribute to the Oscars during "SNL" on Saturday.
