Former supermodel Christie Brinkley is set to belt out a few tunes on the Broadway stage. Brinkley will be joining the cast of the Tony Award-winning hit musical "Chicago" as the jailed killer Roxie Hart for an 11-week engagement from April 4 to June 19, reports The Associated Press.
The 57-year-old made her acting debut in 1983 in "National Lampoon's Vacation" with Chevy Chase. She also appeared in its 1997 sequel, "Vegas Vacation."
Brinkley is one of many celebrities who have played Roxie in the hit musical including Brooke Shields, Marilu Henner, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams and Melanie Griffith.
Last week Brinkley joined her fellow former supermodels Cheryl Tiegs, Stephanie Seymour and Beverly Johnson on Oprah Winfrey's show where they talked about their careers, body issues and how modeling has changed.
Brinkley remembered going to Ford modeling agency and being told she could eat nothing but fish and water in order to drop the pounds necessary to compete in the competitive modeling world.
"She said you can eat any fish, prepared any way, but I'm not kidding," Brinkley told Oprah. "Breakfast was fish and lunch was fish. I did that for like a week and I felt like, 'Oh I'm starting to look like a model!'"
