A judge ruled Monday there is enough evidence to move ahead with the proceedings to declare 52-year-old Lawrence Brown a sexually violent predator.
If a jury agrees, he will be held indefinitely in a mental health facility.
Brown served 25 years in prison for assaulting two young girls in 1983.
He was recently released, but was taken back into custody after he violated his parole.
