Police say a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the back Monday night at the Econo Lodge Maingate Motel where he lives.
He told investigators he heard a knock on his door, and when he answered it four men rushed into his room. They left without taking anything, but the men hit him, beat him and stabbed him for unknown reasons.
Paramedics took him to the /*UCI Medical Center*/ in Orange. The man told police he did not know his attackers and couldn't describe the suspects. Police are trying to determine a motive for the attack.
