Natalie Portman, who is pregnant, is gearing up for the 2011 Academy Awards and viewers are curious about what she plans to wear at the prestigious event.
The 29-year-old announced in December that she is expecting her first child with fiance Benjamin Millepied, a ballet dancer who starred with her in the R-rated thriller "Black Swan." Portman is nominated for an Oscar for her main role as a troubled ballerina. This is her second Academy Award nod - she received an Oscar nomination for her part in the 2004 movie "Closer."
Portman has already showcased a large baby bump ahead of the February 27 show and viewers and the media are curious about what she plans to wear on the red carpet and at the glamorous ceremony, where stars don creations by the world's top designers.
"It's certainly all about leaving space for growth but it is always surprising also that that's become the conversation instead of the movies now, unfortunately - what are you wearing?" Portman said at the recent 2011 Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon in Los Angeles.
At the 2008 Oscar ceremony, a pregnant Jessica Alba donned a strapless Marchesa gown with an empire waist, which draped freely over her baby bump, while Nicole Kidman donned a black Balenciaga dress with a plunging neckline. She gave birth to daughter Sunday several months later.
This year's Oscar ceremony is set to air live on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on Feb. 27, 2011. Check out a full list of Oscar nominations.
