S. LA boy accused of aiming laser at planes

The boy was taken into custody at 61st Street and Avalon Avenue in /*South Los Angeles*/.

Investigators said the boy pointed a green laser at a plane and a police helicopter. He was being held in juvenile custody.

The /*Federal Aviation Administration*/ said lasers can blind or distract pilots and damage eyesight.

There were 100 incidents of laser pointing at aircraft at /*LAX*/ in 2010. That's more than any other airport in the country.
