Jennifer Hudson will open up about the murders of her mother, brother and nephew on Thursday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
In October 2008, her three family members were shot to death in Chicago. The bodies of her mother and brother were found in the family's home and her 7-year-old nephew's body was found days later in a vehicle about 10 miles away. The estranged husband of Hudson's sister is charged for the murders.
Hudson will also talk to Winfrey about her recent weight loss, according to The Associated Press. The former "American Idol" finalist and Oscar-winning actress is a spokeswoman for "Weight Watchers" and has lost about 50 pounds over the past year.
This Sunday, Hudson will be joining Christina Aguilera and other artists in a tribute to Aretha Franklin at the Grammy Awards. Franklin, who was rumored to be suffering from pancreatic cancer but never confirmed reports, is also expected to appear on stage.
Hudson's second studio album, "I Remember Me," is set to be released March 22.
