Rihanna has agreed to allow ex-boyfriend Chris Brown's restraining order to be softened to a level one, her lawyer has told E! News.
Rihanna requested the order be dropped to a level one, which would mean that the two could have contact as long as Brown doesn't annoy, molest or harass her. The previous restraining order kept Brown and Rihanna from attending the same awards ceremonies because it limited the distance the former couple could be from each other. It has been nearly two years since the two singers have been allowed contact with each other.
Brown faced felony assault charges after attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards. He was ordered by the courts to receive domestic violence courses for a year after he pleaded guilty and was also sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service.
In December, Brown Tweeted a photo of a diploma from a domestic violence course and said "I'm done with class."
Brown is nominated for three Grammys at the Grammys this Sunday, but will not be attending the ceremony due to a previous commitment.
Rihanna is scheduled to perform at the Grammy Awards but is currently battling a case of the flu. The singer couldn't make the EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund benefit on Thursday evening and singer Cee Lo Green filled in for the singer, according to E! Online. Hopefully, Rihanna will feel better in time for the Grammys.
In December, Rihanna broke up with her boyfriend, Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player Matt Kemp after dating for nearly a year.
