1M+ baby monitors recalled over safety issues

WASHINGTON

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the monitors, sold under the brand name Summer Infant, can be dangerous if placed too close to cribs.

The agency released photos demonstrating the potential hazard.

The Rhode Island-based manufacturer will now include new warning labels and instructions with its products.

Summer Infant is also recalling re-chargeable batteries in monitors sold at Babies R Us because they can overheat.
