'Social Network' wins big at Critics' Circle

BERLIN

Several stars walked the red carpet Thursday night including, Colin Firth who stars in "The King's Speech."

That film has been winning several awards this season in the United States.

The films were tied at seven nominations each, but "The Social Network" brought home four trophies, including Film of the Year.

"Well it's great you know, the critics were the first ones to come out for this movie and they told people to go and see it and people did go and see it, and they told their friends to go and see it and that's what happened. Getting an award from a group of people who see everything is...really something," said "The Social Network" screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.

"The King's Speech," which leads the Academy Awards with 12 nominations, took home three Critics' Circle awards.
