Lady Gaga has debuted her new single, "Born This Way," which many say sounds like Madonna's 1980s song, "Express Yourself."

Both singers have not commented on the matter, widely discussed on Twitter on Friday.

Comparisons between the two have often been made. Both have showcased risque fashion choices. Lady Gaga has appeared on the cover of magazines and in her music videos dressed in outfits similar to those worn by Madonna.

Lady Gaga's second studio album, also called "Born This Way," is set for release on May 23, 2011. The singer promised fans at a concert stop in Poland in November that the record will be the "greatest album of this decade." It has been reported that the record may contain up to 20 tracks.

Lady Gaga also recently collaborated with veteran singer Elton John on a track called "Hello, Hello" for the new animated film "Gnomeo & Juliet."

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga is gearing up to perform at the 2011 Grammy Awards, joining the likes of Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. She is nominated for six awards and has won two in the past. (Check out a full list of nominations as well as a list of performers and presenters.
