Elton John says one of the nicest things about 2010 was meeting Lady Gaga.
John, 63, and Lady Gaga, a 24-year-old pop star, performed together at the Grammys last year and recorded a song called "Hello, Hello" for the animated film "Gnomeo & Juliet."The movie came out on February 11 and is a contemporary take of the William Shakespeare love story "Romeo and Juliet," featuring garden knomes. The cast includes Emily Blunt, James McAvoy, Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, wrestler Hulk Hogan, Ozzy Osbourne, Dolly Parton and more.
"She was on tour of Europe and she was just trying to fit some time in her unbelivable schedule to do it," John told OnTheRedCarpet.com about his duet with Lady Gaga. "We were on the phone to each other and she did an amazing job. One of the nicest things about 2010 was meeting her, doing the Grammys, getting to know her and becoming friends with her so I'm so grateful to her."
John produced "Hello, Hello" with his life partner David Furnish. The two welcomed a baby son through a surrogate mother in December 2010.
The "Gnomeo & Juliet" soundtrack includes many of John's classic songs and two new tracks, including a version of "Crocodile Rock" featuring Nelly Furtado.
