Cate Blanchett has joined the list of presenters for the 2011 Academy Awards, organizers said on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old Australian actress is known for films such as "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and won an Oscar for her role in the 2004 movie "The Aviator." She has been nominated for an Academy Award four times.
Blanchett is set to reunite with director Peter Jackson to reprise her role of Galadriel, the Lady of Lothlorien from "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy in the director's new "Hobbit" films, it was reported in December 2010.Others set to present at the ceremony, set to air live on ABC on February 27 at 8 p.m. ET, are current nominees Nicole Kidman, who as also an Oscar recipient, and Annette Bening, former winners Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks and Marisa Tomei, former nominees Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Oprah Winfrey and former Academy Awards host Hugh Jackman.
Among the scheduled performers are Gwyneth Paltrow, who will sing "Country Strong" by her latest film by the same name, Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore, who will perform "I See the Light" from the animated film "Tangled," accompanied by Alan Menken, Randy Newman, who will sing his song "We Belong Together" from the animated movie "Toy Story 3" and A.R. Rahman and Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine, who will will perform "If I Rise" from the film "127 Hours."
