"I never expected to win at all," said Michael Zhang. "It was just something I did for fun. I've only been texting for a year and a half or so, and I didn't think I'd be that good at it."
Zhang, 17, from Pasco won the US Cellular's Speed Text Tournament. He out-texted more than 1,100 hundred people from across the country.
Along with the dubious honor of "Fastest Texter in America", Zhang also won $10,000 which he says he'll put toward college tuition.
