Gosselin, 33, was spotted wearing a harness and a hard hat while installing solar panels on a storage building in Pennsylvania for Green Pointe Energy, which specializes in renewable energy.
Gosselin, who formerly starred in TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus 8," was a computer technician before the reality show became hugely popular. The series, which ended in 2009, followed Jon and his now ex-wife Kate Gosselin as they raised their twin daughters and sextuplets.
In 2009, Kate filed for a divorce from Jon and has since starred in the TLC re-creation, "Kate Plus 8" and was a contestant on the tenth season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
"It would be nice to have a job on television again," Gosslin told Us Weekly in June. "I'm not so sure about reality. I'm just exploring my options right now."
Gosselin and his representation have not confirmed his reported new gig but said on January 10 on his Twitter page: "Just keeping busy with work and the normal stuff. Nothing exciting at all."
Gosselin has been dating 24-year-old Ellen Ross, who he has been linked to since April 2010, when they met on a blind date. Ross said in a July interview that she would "never" do a reality show.
Jon Gosselin told OnTheRedCarpet.com in June 2010: "I want to do something that I believe in and am passionate about and something that I can explain to my children, why I did this and stuff like that instead of, 'I just did it for money,' or 'I did it for this,' 'I did it because I was desperate' or something like that."
