Despite her personal woes with ex Gabriel Aubrey over the custody of their daughter Nahla, Halle Berry was given something to celebrate on Tuesday.
Berry was honored at the 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards with the Lacoste Spotlight Award and showed up in a sheer Elie Saab gown, according to People.
Samuel L. Jackson was on hand to present Berry with the award. A source tells the magazine, "She stuck completely on topic of the event and didn't mention anything about her personal life, but she had a happy aura. She even skipped away from the podium when her speech was done, and gave Samuel L. Jackson a big hug."
Berry appeared in court on February 16 in Los Angeles over her custody dispute with Aubrey and the hearing centered on whether Berry could take the former couple's daughter to New York City while the actress filmed a role in New Year's Eve, according to People.
According to the magazine, Berry took on a smaller role after she initially canceled her appearance in the film while she was preparing for the custody battle. Katherine Heigl was hired to take over Berry's role in the star-studded ensemble film.
"We were very happy with the result today, but because this is a paternity case, I can't say anything about it," Berry's attorney Neal Raymond Hersh told the magazine.
Aubry's fight with Berry over Nahla began a month after former model Aubrey filed court papers in Los Angeles Superior Court to establish paternity and secure joint legal custody on December 30.
