The humanoid robots are from five competing teams. The robots are supposed to "run" 422 times around an indoor racetrack located in Osaka's Asia Pacific Trade Centre. At that pace, the robots may finish Sunday morning.
The chief executive officer from a company that built one of the robots says he hopes the marathon will turn into an international competition in the future.
