The stabbing took place on Ocean Front Walk at Westminster Boulevard on the Venice Beach boardwalk Thursday afternoon.
LAPD said 23-year-old Billy Young stabbed and murdered the victim, after the victim and Young became engaged in a fight. The victim was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification to his family members.
Young attempted to run, but was caught by patrol officers. Young has been booked for murder.
