Nicolas Cage has shared the screen with a lot of female co-stars throughout his career, and the actor had nothing but warm words for his latest co-star Amber Heard.
The two star in "Drive Angry 3D," where Cage plays a vengeful father named John Milton who escapes from hell to stop the cult who murdered his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter. Along the way, Milton rescues a waitress named Piper (Amber Heard) from her abusive boyfriend and takes her along for back-up.
"She's an original. She's tough, she's beautiful," Cages tells OnTheRedCarpet.com about Heard at the Hollywood premiere for the film on February 22. "I describe her as being very visceral and raw. She's someone that you care about."
"What I like about her is that her portrayal, her presentation is not victim," Cage added. "We really had a great time working together."
Heard performed some of her own stunts in the film. She told OnTheRedCarpet.com, "I went home many a night with bumps and scrapes and bruises, but that's all part of the experience. I wanted to do all of my own stunts, they wouldn't let me do them all, but I did a lot of them and it just made the experience all the better."
"Drive Angry 3D" hit theaters on Friday, February 25.
