OC Sheriff's deputy uses Tazer on a pit bull

STANTON, Calif.

OC Sheriff's said that the male pit bull escaped from its yard and squeezed through the fence of a neighbor's backyard on the 8500 block of Chanticleer Road Saturday morning.

Deputies found a dead shih tzu and a mauled cocker spaniel. A deputy cornered the pit bull and used a Taser to control the dog.

The pit bull was taken away by Orange County Animal Control officers so the dog could be quarantined. Officers said an owner of the attacked dogs tried to intervene in the attack, but no people were reported hurt.

Deputies searched the home of the pit bull where they found a female adult pit bull and six pit bull puppies. Animal Control officers took all the pit bulls into custody.

Any charges filed against the owner of the pit bull would be filed by Animal Control.
