Police said they received a call of shots fired just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the 8900 block of Painter Avenue.
Authorities found the victim dead inside his home. His two young children were discovered unharmed.
Officials say they are not sure if the kids witnessed the murder.
Investigators said they could not figure out a motive and had no leads in the case.
The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
