2 LA deputies hurt in Commerce pursuit-crash

COMMERCE, Calif.

The incident happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday near Eastern Avenue and Commerce Way.

The sheriff's department said deputies in one car were chasing a suspected drunk driver who veered into another patrol car.

Deputies in that car swerved to avoid a collision and hit a tree.

The deputies were taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center with non-life threatening head and leg injuries.

The suspected drunk driver was arrested later at his home.
