Man in bathrobe leads CHP on bizarre pursuit

SAN DIMAS, Calif.

The driver was allegedly speeding and wouldn't pull over on Interstate 5.

Officers followed him down the 170, 134, 210 and 605 freeways.

The California Highway Patrol pulled back for a while and the driver actually stopped for gas.

He got as far as San Dimas and leaving his car, wearing a bathrobe.

The man sauntered down a residential neighborhood and took the time to light what appeared to be a cigarette.

Authorities chased him on foot, but the suspect picked up the pace and outran one officer. In the process, the suspect lost his footwear, apparently a slipper.

Officers eventually Tasered him and took him into custody.

No one was hurt during the incident.
