Cary Elwes has joined the cast of the "Wonder Woman" NBC pilot, OnTheRedCarpet.com has confirmed and The Hollywood Reporter has reported.
The show is the retelling of the superhero and her alter ego Diana Prince. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character "tries to balance her life as a vigilante crime fighter, a successful corporate executive and a modern woman."
Elwes, 48, will reportedly play Henry Detmer, the CEO of Themscira Industries, Diana Prince's company. Detmer runs the company and acts like an uncle to Diana, though Deadline reports that his character could turn into a possible love interest.
Elwes is an English actor best known for his role as Westley in the 1989 fantasy film "The Princess Bride." He also appeared in the horror movies "Saw" and "Saw 3D: The Final Chapter."
Elwes married photographer Lisa Marie Kurbikoff in 2000, the couple has one daughter.
Elwes recently played Natalie Portman's doctor crush in "No Strings Attached." He also voiced a character for the upcoming animated movie "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" which is set for release on December 28, 2011.
