Charlie Sheen is trying to put his anti-Semite accusations to rest by revealing that he is Jewish.
"My mom is Jewish. Here's where it gets confusing - we don't know who her father was," Charlie told Access Hollywood on Friday morning. "But she is, in fact, Jewish. So, I guess that would make me Jewish, and my children Jewish. And Brooke [Mueller], my ex-wife is Jewish. So, I guess I should've rolled all that out too."
Access Hollywood asked the former "Two and a Half Men" star why he didn't mention the fact that he's Jewish when the accusations first started and Sheen said he was "caught sleeping."
"I just got caught sleeping. Caught napping. Which is rare for me," Sheen said. "But, I'm proud of it. There you have it."
During the interview, Sheen also announced that he plans on traveling to Haiti with his friend Sean Penn to help the earthquake-damaged country.
"We're going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we're heading down [to Haiti]," Sheen said. "And I'm excited as hell because, you know, if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting."
Penn founded the J/P Haitian Relief Organization following Haiti's January 2010 earthquake. The "Milk" actor was recently spotted in Mexico with actress Scarlett Johannson, who has also worked with him on Haiti relief. Penn and Johansson both recently divorced their significant others, Sean Penn and Ryan Reynolds respectively.
In the April issue of GQ, Penn defends Sheen's actions.
"When you divorce the moral judgments, which I prefer to do, I see a guy who has a clearer view of the nature of the world around him than is sometimes comfortable to have," Sean reportedly told the magazine. "But [Charlie] is a very ironic character... He's got pretension in the crosshairs of his wit. I think to a large degree he's saying, 'Guys, we're only going to be here once, so lighten the (expletive) up.'"
Penn's representative denied the Haiti trip news on Thursday evening but has yet to comment since Sheen's interview.
On Thursday, Sheen claimed on that he had come to a verbal agreement with Brooke Mueller after she filed a temporary restraining order and removed their twin sons from his care, citing domestic violence and calling him "insane."
